Highways England issues warning as 'multiple vehicles' stranded on M1 at Wakefield during snow

Highways England said the southbound entry slip road at junction 39 (Durkar) had been blocked by a stranded vehicle during the snow.

Minutes later, they updated their report to say that multiple vehicles had become stranded on the same slip road.

Recovery teams and traffic officers are on their way to the scene, but drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
