“Malicious” fire at farm tackled by 30 firefighters
More than 30 firefighters attended the incident at Musgrave Farm, off Main Street, South Hiendley just after 5.50am.
And one man suffered injuries rescuing livestock.
Watch commander Alan Bagnall, from South Elmsall Station said several barns were on fire when they arrived and that water had to be pumped to the scene from a mile away.

Hide Ad“There were three barns, each about 9 metres by 20 metres on fire when we arrived, they were full of bales of hay, timber and also baled paper. There must have been at least 60 bales of paper in one barn. Some machinery was also on fire.
“One barn also contained a lot of livestock and a man had to be treated for smoke inhalation after saving the livestock from the fire.
“This was a six pump incident, so about 30 firefighters were involved. The police were also involved as the cause is suspected to be malicious. The incident remains ongoing and four pumps are still at the scene.”
