Travellers have set up camp on a playing field in Stanley.
Wakefield Council said on Wednesday that a total of 18 caravans were parked on the field, on Lime Pit Lane, Stanley, Wakefield.
Some caravans have now left the site after the council threatened enforcement action.
Glynn Humphries, the council’s service director environment and streetscene, said: “Eighteen caravans have moved onto a council field at Lime Pit Lane, Stanley.
“We are looking into this and we have commenced enforcement action.”
It is the second time in less than a year that travellers have set up camp in the playing field.
More than 10 caravans were parked on the field last October before being moved on.
