Trio arrested after chase involving armed police in Wakefield

The men were travelling ​on the Ossett bypass at around 6pm today (Saturday) ​in a white van linked to a burglary in South Yorkshire​.

A police spokesman said the vehicle failed to stop when spotted by officers who then gave chase.

He said there was a suggestion two men in the back of the van may have had firearms and armed police joined the chase.

The vehicle was stopped on Ossett bypass and all three men were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

The spokesman said no firearms were found on the men or in the vehicle.
