Two women cut out of car after crash

Two people were cut out from the car they were travelling in after it hit a barrier in Pontefract.

Emergency services were called to Front Street at around 2.30pm yesterday (June 5).

Fire crews from Pontefract and Castleford attended the scene and freed the two women from the vehicle.

They were taken to hospital to be checked over.

Graham Spark, crew commander at Pontefract station said: “They never lost consciousness. They were shaken but generally fine.”
