UPDATE: Girl ‘serious but stable’ after being hit by a car in South Elmsall

The girl was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with serious head injuries following the incident on Minsthorpe Lane, outside Penny’s Sandwich Shop, at around 8.15am.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision, which involved a black Mercedes A140.

PC Pete Schofield said: “We would like to speak to anyone who has witnessed the circumstances of this collision. Anyone who saw this incident is asked to call the eastern area safer roads and neighbourhood support team on 101.”
