UPDATE: Man stabbed in Eastmoor

Two men were arrested after the incident on Parkgate Avenue which happened at around 2.20am this morning (Friday).

Police were called and found a 40-year old man who had suffered stab wounds.

The man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Paul Harrison of Wakefield CID, said: “We are continuing enquiries into this incident today to establish the circumstances of what took place.

“Two men remain in custody and I would ask anyone who saw a disturbance in the Parkgate Avenue area, or suspicious behaviour in nearby streets at just after 2am, to contact Wakefield District CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
