UPDATE: Police appeal for witnesses following fatal smash in Notton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl died when a car hit a tree in Notton last night.

The 16-year-old was a passenger in a Seat Leon car, which left the road and collided with a tree on Chevet Lane, close to Smawell Lane, at around 11.35pm on Tuesday.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The driver of the car was taken to the major trauma unit at Leeds General Infirmary and two other passengers were also taken to hospital.
