POLICE investigating a six car pile up have said it was caused by a driver who suddenly became ill at the wheel.
He was driving a blue Jaguar along Leeds Road in Outwood at around 1.55pm on Monday when it happened.
A Ford Focus, a Ford Transit van, a Ford Fiesta, a Vauxhall Combo van and a Ford Mondeo were also involved in the smash.
Insp David Peach, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “The driver was driving an automatic car when he suffered a medical episode at the wheel and was unable to stop.”
No one was seriously injured.
The driver was treated at the scene.
