UPDATED: Police appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured in Notton road accident

A motorcyclist was seriously injured after he was in a collision with a car this morning (Wednesday).

The 21-year-old was involved in an incident with a Skoda Fabia car on Barnsley Road, Notton, at 10.45am.

The car had stopped to turn right when it was involved in the collision with the Daelim 125cc motorbike.

Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction.

Police said the biker, from Wakefield, suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he is being treated.

PC 1853 Rusell Windross of the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this incident and I would ask anyone who saw what happened or saw either vehicle just prior to the collision to contact myself at the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit on 101.”
