Vandals daub city-centre road with a message about potholes

Angry vandals have sent a message to Wakefield Council about the state of a city road, telling them to 'sort it out'.

The message was daubed in red paint across the middle of the road on Balne Lane.

It is not known when the message was written, but tells the council to stop the work on Kirkgate, and sort out this stretch of road.

It is understood that the message refers to the number of potholes along Balne Lane, and the major work to alter the roundabout at Kirkgate.

However, many of the potholes on Balne Lane appear to have been marked up by council workers in preparation to be filled in.

The Express is waiting on a response from Wakefield Council.
