A NEW queen on the catwalk was crowned as the crowds came out for the final of Wakefield’s Next Top Model.
After weeks of nominations and votes, your ten finalists hit the red carpet at sponsors’ Trinity Walk on Sunday.
And after an agonising debate, 25-year-old supermarket worker Leonie Cowell was crowned the winner.
Leonie, from Peacock, won a 12-month modelling contract with Catwalk Model Management, became the next face of Trinity Walk and will appear in fashion shoots for the Wakefield Express women’s supplement What Women Want.
Leonie, of Lincoln Street, said: “I am so shocked. When the winner was announced I thought I’d heard wrong.
“I’ve always wanted to give modelling a go, but nerves always got the better of me. My mum encouraged me to enter and I couldn’t believe it when I got to the final. To win is amazing.”
