All the fun of the seaside will arrive in the city centre for a weekend next month.
Wakefield Council’s second Seaside in the City event will take place on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18.
There will be an 18-foot pirate ship in The Ridings, and a funfair ride and crazy golf at Trinity Walk.
And in the city centre precinct there will be a Helter Skelter, donkey rides, and Punch and Judy shows.
Coun David Dagger, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for Culture, said: “We may be far from the coast but we can still bring the seaside to the city. With only a few weeks to go until the event, keep a look out for themed props in the city centre to get people into the seaside spirit.
“Last year’s event was a great success with lots of families enjoying the activities on offer. We hope you can all join us again this year and fingers crossed that the sun does too.”
