Video: Tour de France great Barry Hoban gets his Wakefield star

Cycling legend Barry Hoban has been awarded a Wakefield star.

Mr Hoban, 73, was presented with his star at Wakefield One today (Friday). The ceremony was attended by Wakefield Council officials and the public on Burton Street.

The Stanley born rider won eight stages of the Tour de France during an illustrious professional career spanning from the 1960s to 1980.

The walk of fame star will be sited at a later date in the Bull Ring near the star of Neil Fox, the Wakefield Trinity great.
