VIDEO: Wakefield Children’s Graduation at Theatre Royal with Wakefield College

The annual Children’s University Graduation Ceremony, organised by Wakefield College, was held at the Theatre Royal.

Children from as young as five collected certificates for completing a minimum of 100 hours of extra-curricular activities.

The event was attended by hundreds of parents as well as special guests Amy Garcia, presenter from BBC’s Look North and BBC The Apprentice’s Claire Young.

Mum-of-one Ms Garcia said: “The scheme inspires children to think outside of the box and gives them the opportunity to try something they’ve never done before.

“It gives children an idea of what else is out there and that education can be fun.”
