VIDEO: Wakefield Council leader takes on ice bucket challenge

Wakefield Council leader Peter Box has raised around £250 by suffering the ice bucket challenge.

The councillor took a soaking from players at the Castleford Tigers match against Bradford Bulls last weekend.

Coun Box completed the challenge in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

He said: “I am extremely pleased to have raised more than £200 for such a worthwhile cause.

“It was a chilling experience but I am happy to have contributed to the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charity and encourage everybody to donate as much as they can to help people suffering from this disease.”

Coun Box also nominated club commentator Mick Morgan, Featherstone councillor Graham Isherwood and the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats coach James Webster in keeping with the ‘rules’ of the challenge.
