The annual Wakefield Business Awards 2015 will once again recognise the best of businesses across the district.
With the fastest-growing economy in the region, Wakefield has proven itself as a hub for commercial, creative and entrepreneurial activity.
The fifth annual awards will celebrate vibrant and flourishing businesses which have not only provided great customer service and products, but also jobs for the community and helped boost the local economy.
For the first time, the ceremony will be held at Unity Works, Westgate, on Thursday, June 25. The host will be inspirational presenter and communications coach Jon Hammond.
Nominees this year will be recognised for their commitment to staff, the local community and the environment. There will be a special award, to be announced on the night of the ceremony, for business person of the year.
Last year, more than 250 guests saw Sir Rodney Walker crowned Businessperson of the Year for his commitment to the business community in and around Wakefield.
Entries for this year’s awards – organised and supported by the Wakefield Express group – must be in by Monday, May 11. Other companies sponsoring some of the award categories include Haribo, YPO, Crompton Controls, First Choice Recruitment and Copiserv.

A panel of judges will decide the winners, except for employee of the year, which will be judged by readers.
To get involved with this year’s Wakefield Business Awards and profile your business to an influential Wakefield audience, there are still categories available to sponsor.
