Companies are now signing up to sponsor this year’s Wakefield Business Awards, which celebrates the district’s brightest and most innovative businesses.

The awards, on Thursday, June 16, at Unity Works, will celebrate vibrant and flourishing businesses across the city which have not only provided great customer service and products, but also jobs for the community and helped boost the local economy.

Details of the award categories for this year’s event will be announced shortly.

So far, HSBC, YPO, Trinity Walk, The Ridings, Wakefield Council and Bagnall Hopkins have signed up to sponsor individual categories and Juice Personnel are the table sponsors for the event - with more prospective sponsors being invited to get in touch.

And this year we will also be adding some new and exciting retail categories to the awards.

Last year radio personality Jon Hammond compered the awards evening in front of a crowd of more than 200 local businessmen and women at a black tie event at Unity Works in the main Unity Hall.

Winners in the 2015 awards included 6B Digital, which was named New Business of the Year.

International Business of the Year was SoftSols Group and Crompton Controls got the award for Business and the Environment. And Business Person of the Year was Claire Young. More details of the 2016 contest will be released during the coming weeks.
