Wakefield Council leader retains his seat

WAKEFIELD Council leader Peter Box has retained his ward seat of Altofts and Whitwood.

Coun Box gave the other candidates a hammering by winning 2,009 votes.

He thanked voters and the “world famous Mrs Box” for tolerating him during the election campaign.

David Armitage, candidate for the UK Independence Party won 783 votes and Tory candidate Steven Beeton managed to win 470 votes.
