Wakefield Works - final call for companies to help guide city’s young unemployed

This is the final call for companies wanting to help get young unemployed people back into work.

Wakefield Works 2013 takes place between October 14-18, but the deadline for companies to sign up to the initiative is midnight on Sunday.

Companies in the industrial and manufacturing sectors would be especially welcomed.

Last year seven young people got jobs through taking part, and this was thanks to the companies that opened up their doors to see them.

It’s really easy to sign up - visit the website www.wakefieldworks.co.uk to find out more about the scheme and use the online form to register your interest.

The Wakefield Express is a partner in the project, and editor Mark Bradley said: “I would appeal to anyone that owns or manages a business to consider blocking time out of their calendar to help guide the city’s youngsters.”

The website will switch over to allow candidates to book appointments from September 27.
