Wakefield is set to bask in 30C heat on Friday - but they will be followed by thunderstorms that are set to sweep the country.

We're in for a mixture of dry spells and showers this week, but by Friday there will be glorious sunshine with temperatures reaching highs of 30C.

Forecasters say we're in for a mixture of dry spells and showers this week, but by Friday there will be glorious sunshine with temperatures reaching highs of 30C.

Temperatures will begin to rise tomorrow with forecasts of 24C, gradually cooling over the weekend with thunderstorms and showers expected on Monday.
