Snow is continuing to fall across the Wakefield district this afternoon, leading to widespread travel disruption, school closures and more.

But when is the snow expected to end, and how long will it be with us? This is the latest forecast for the district, according to the Met Office.

Snow will continue for much of the day, and a yellow warning of snow and nice remains in place until 9pm.

Heavy snow is expected to continue until at least 6pm, with fog and sleet in the later hours.

The day will feel bitterly cold, with highs of 1°C and lows of -3°C.

Another bitterly cold day, with temperatures below freezing through the morning.

No snow is forecast, but mist and fog are expected to settle across the district, particularly in hilly areas.

Patchy cloud and sunny spells are possible, with an early frost and winds building into the evening.

Highs of 1°C and lows of -2°C.

Saturday, January 16

Another yellow warning for snow and ice will be in place from 3am to 9pm on Saturday.

Strong winds and sleet are expected, and drivers are warned to expect disruption to travel.

Temperatures will reach highs of 5°C and lows of 3°C.
