Wickes will close its stores at 3pm on Sunday if England reach World Cup final

Wickes has announced if England reach the World Cup final then it will be closing all of its stores across the UK at 3pm on Sunday.

England's recent friendly with Costa Rica at Elland Road.

The move will help its employees get home in time for the 4pm kickoff.

The DIY retailer, which has stores in Wakefield and Pontefract, made the announcement ahead of tonight’s England vs Croatia semi final in Moscow.

A spokesman said: “The whole nation has got behind this World Cup and it is only fair if England make it to the final everyone has the opportunity to cheer them on, so we will be closing all our stores at 3pm so all colleagues can enjoy this historic event.”
