Woman left with serious injuries after being hit by car

The incident happened on the A638 Doncaster Road, Wakefield, at around 1.10pm.

It took place outside the Howarth Timber building after the 38-year-old woman was in collision with a Skoda Fabia classic car.

The woman had been crossing the road when the collision occurred. She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where she remains today.

Anyone who saw the collision, the pedestrian or the Fabia shortly before the crash is asked to contact PC Andy Wilson at the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team (East) on 101.
