Police helped rescue a swimmer who got stranded in a river.
A woman had to be pulled out of the River Calder, near Chantry Bridge, after becoming stuck at around 11.30am today (Tuesday).
A police spokeswoman said: “There was somebody in the water who has been pulled out and gone with the ambulance to hospital to be checked over.
“We believe they had been swimming but was struggling to get out and had got into a bit of difficulty. Members of the public helped.”
