A WORKMAN died after being hit by a cyclist.

The 53-year-old was struck on Portobello Road at 12.38pm on Friday, August 3.

The man, from Dodworth in Barnsley, suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital on Sunday, August 5.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries.

Detectives want to speak to anyone with information.

Sgt Carl Quinn, of the Major Collision Enquiries Team, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this collision and in particular the driver of a small car, believed to be a Volvo, which was parked at temporary traffic lights near the incident scene and may well have seen what happened.”
