Last Saturday’s event at the Village Hall drew the crowds despite the rainy weather.

There were 472 entries this year, with the home-made produce and junior sections being most popular. The best in category trophies were awarded to Peter Bradshaw, John Warwick, Mel Linney, Dawn Micklethwaite, Margaret Shield, John Freer, Elaine Cattle and Kate Honeyman. There was also a raffle draw, including signed Yorkshire County Cricket merchandise.

Spokeswoman Kate Honeyman said: “Finally, a number of donated entries were auctioned off, which proved a fun way to end a wonderful day.

A big thank you goes to all the volunteers, sponsors, prize donators and the attending public, whom without, the show would not take place. We hope to see you all next year.”
