Mr Taylor, of Alverthorpe, who was eliminated from the talent competition at boot camp, will perform at Warehouse 23 in Wakefield on Thursday to raise money for Wakefield Hospice.

He will recreate his Wembley audition which saw him get four yes votes from judges Simon Cowell, Rita Ora, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw with a performance of Walk the Moon’s Shut Up and Dance With Me.

The judges enjoyed ice cream which the dad-of-three normally sells on a tricycle on Wakefield Cathedral precinct.

But he was eliminated from the competition at boot camp, which was shown on television on Sunday.

Mr Taylor, 35, said: “I wanted to have a big gig to say thank you to everyone who has and is still supporting me.”

Doors for the concert will open at 7.30pm and admission costs £1.
