Letter - Mobile phones do put car park tickets at risk

Following news of Mr Bradley’s recent detention in the Trinity Walk car park I was surprised by the apparent lack of knowledge from the security company that manages the barrier system.

Data on parking tickets is at risk from close contact with mobile phones and this is a problem not confined to Trinity Walk.

Another common problem is data loss on hotel swipe cards, I once had one that was wiped by the magnetic paws of my daughter’s teddy! This is an issue that has been affecting data cards for many years though members of the public often learn about it the hard way.

I do question the effect of mobile phones on the human brain when they are capable of disrupting data in such a simple way.

It does appear that with limited entry and exit points to Trinity Walk, there should be a better contingency for barrier delays than presently exists.
