Letter - There was something for everyone at Wood Street Market

We went to the Wood Street Market last Sunday and enjoyed every minute of it. There was something for everyone: crafts, cakes, face-painting, jewellery and even pork pies.

It was very well organised and set out so it was easy to visit all the stalls. All the stallholders were friendly and passionate about both their own stall and the entire market.

My favourites were Time Bakery Coffee Shop, Cycle Technology and Diane Stoker Designer but the highlight of the event was the demonstration from Allums Butchers and Iris Restaurant, it was informative, intertesting and informal.

I was surprised to learn that this event was not organised by Wakefield Council, whom should take note of this and they themselves should be more active to promote the wealth of fantastic independent traders that the city has.

I hope all the stalls had a profitable day and enjoyed it as much as we did, I can’t wait for the next one.
