I recently spent five weeks in Pinderfields Hospital over Christmas and New Year, four weeks in ward 34 HDU and one week in ward 32. After having two major operations I was unable to do things for myself.
The care and attention I and my family received was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for the lovely hard working nurses, they encouraged me to feel positive and kept my spirits up.
They work 12 and a half hour shifts, they are on their feet the whole time except for two half hour breaks, which they are not paid for and they also have to pay for car parking.
They are a credit to the NHS. We can’t thank them enough.
