Why lights are still burning

In response to a letter last week from Frank Newton about the Waterton Road School in Lupset – I would like to clarify what is happening with the property.

When a building is no longer required by the council – for its original purpose – in this case as a school - we look to see if the building can be used for an alternative purpose or whether it should be disposed of.

When buildings are empty they need to be protected from vandalism until they are reused or disposed of and outside lighting is used as part of the security system. This is the case with Waterton Road School.
