Zoe Flintoff, who is originally from Ossett and now lives in Morley, stayed up all night to successfully complete the Moonwalk London in eight hours and 41 minutes, and raised £500 for Walk the Walk - including £170 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.

Zoe, alongside her mum Michelle and sister Samantha, power-walked the marathon from Clapham Common through Battersea Park, along the South Bank and crossed Tower Bridge to cover the 26.2 miles.

Zoe said: “I feel so proud to have taken part in the event alongside my mum, sister and 18,000 people in total. The atmosphere was amazing, despite the chilly weather and lack of sleep.

“Everybody was spurring each other on and the streets were lined with volunteers providing encouragement, water, fruits and sweets to keep us going.

“We chose to support Walk the Walk charity for all the women battling with breast cancer and those who’ve had their lives taken too soon.

“I would definitely take part in this event again as you get a real sense of pride and feel like you are making a difference. It really is overwhelming.”
