BUDDING martial arts masters are being invited to an open weekend at the new base of GP Martial Arts in Outwood.

The club has moved from its base opposite the Kirklands Hotel on Leeds Road, in Outwood, to a new, modern base further down Leeds Road, just after Valentino’s and before The Sun pub.

And Graham Roche, the club’s chief instructor, is inviting budding martial arts aces of all ages and standards to try out the new facilities this weekend.

The club will be open between 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday and anyone can attend to try the facilities and become a member.

“We had to move from our old place because we were just getting too big for it,” said Roche.

“We have a big list of members and the parking around there wasn’t that good for us, we ended up actually losing money by being there.

“It’s taken three months to get the new place kitted out but it’s a lot bigger and it’s great for the club.”
