Bulldogs sign Wildcat Wildie

BATLEY Bulldogs have swooped to sign promising Wakefield Wildcats half-back or hooker Matthew Wildie on a month’s loan deal.

The 21-year-old former Stanley Rangers amateur has earned junior representative honours with England and was also part of Wakefield’s 2009 Under-18 Academy winning squad before earning a first team contract at Belle Vue.

The deal is initially for a month, although Wakefield have a clause to re-call Wildie at 48 hours notice.

Batley do not have a game this weekend, so Wildie could come into contention to make his debut in the home game against Hunslet Hawks on June 10.
