WAKEFIELD Sports Club will host two international hockey matches between China ladies and their Scotland counterparts next month.

The Chinese team will train at College Grove, the home of Wakefield Hockey Club, ahead of the London 2012 Olympics and the match will be part of their pre-Games preparations.

The matches will take place on Friday, July 20 and Sunday, July 22 and will be open to the public with tickets priced at £5 for adults and £2 for children.

The Scottish team will be based in Wakefield over the weekend and are also scheduled to take on a Wakefield Hockey Club team on Saturday, July 21.

The matches will be played on the newly-opened international-standard pitches that were officially launched last weekend and the club hopes they’re the first of many international matches to be played in the Merrie City.
