Khalid Usman inspired Ossett to a magnificent 137-run win over Buttershaw St Paul’s in the Jack Hampshire Cup final on Sunday.
Usman top scored with 64 from 39 balls as Ossett made 230-7 in their 40 overs and he then produced devastating figures of 6-10 to end Saints’ challenge on 93 all out.
Usman’s first victim was the Buttershaw’s top scorer Gary Wainwright (31) as the Conference side lost their last seven wickets for 39 runs.
Ossett openers Harvey Anderson (41) and Imran Patel (34) set the tone with a stand of 78 before Usman let fly with the bat.
