Crigglestone-Kettlethorpe look to come out on top in title decider

CRIGGLESTONE-KETTLETHORPE RLFC will aim to clinch the Pennine League Division 2 crown on Saturday and put the icing on the cake of a superb season.

Crigg host third-place Lindley Swifts in a title-decider at South View playing fields (kick-off 2.30pm).

The hosts, who have already secured promotion, just need to avoid defeat against their visitors to be crowned champions.

But if Lindley win, they’ll take the title thanks to a better head-to-head record against the South View side.

Swifts defeated Crigg in the reverse fixture and, rather than points difference, the club’s head-to-head record over the season will come in to play with the sides level on points should Crigg fall to defeat.

They have home advantage though and will be keen to make amends from their loss at Lindley, as well as cap off a fine campaign by lifting the Division 2 trophy.
