The nearest rival to Duggleby was Wakefield Triathlon Club’s Dave Cresswell, four minutes adrift in second, but his time of 26 minutes 3 seconds was a terrific ride in the conditions.

Cresswell’s team-mate Phillip Wood was 14 seconds further back in third while the first Calder Clarion rider home was Tom Butler, in fourth with 26:38.

Wakefield Triathlon Club’s Jennie Muston was the fastest woman in 33:34, one minute clear of team mate Victoria Smith.

Calder’s Helen Mann and Wakefield Triathlon’s Eva Slade tied for third place.

Wakefield Triathlon topped the team standings ahead of Calder Clarion in second.
