OSSETT Albion will look to the magic of the FA Cup to help kick-start their season this weekend after suffering back-to-back league losses.
Albion were thrashed 8-0 at home by Trafford on the opening day of the Evo-Stik Division 1 North season on Saturday and were put to the sword 3-1 at Goole AFC on Tuesday night.
The defeat has left the Dimple Wells propping up the rest of the division and although only two games in, Albion management duo Lloyd Fellows and Paul Watson will be hoping victory in the cup can lift spirits, and results, at the club following their poor start.
They’ll take their side to Northern League Division 1 club Hebburn Town in the Preliminary Round on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
Trips north in the cup are traditionally far from easy and Albion can expect a tough test at North Drive.
Victory for Albion would see them face a trip to either Jarrow Roofing Boldon CA or Farsley AFC in the First Qualifying Round, and see them pocket £1,750 in prize money for their efforts.
But they’ll have to show a vast improvement on their opening league performances.
A supporters’ coach is going to Hebburn on Saturday. It will leave the cricket club at 11.45am and all are welcome. Seats are priced at £12.
Ossett Town host Goole AFC at Stade France in their Preliminary Round clash, while Wakefield FC make the short trip to Garforth Town. Both games kick-off at 3pm.
