McDermott in line to be new Leeds United manager

Betting has been suspended on the Leeds United manager market with reports suggesting Brian McDermott is in advance talks to take over.

The former Reading boss was the early favourite to take the role after Neil Warnock’s departure and was believed to have held talks with the club’s owners last week, but since then ex-Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo was heavily backed to move to the head of the market.

However, there was a gamble on McDermott yesterday and betting on the new manager has been suspended, suggesting a decision will be announced soon.
