New Leeds United boss delighted with fans response
The Whites came from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 and McDermott was delighted with the way his new players responded to their task and with the backing they received from the Elland Road crowd.
He said: “I said to the boys at half-time this crowd they want you to do well. Anything at all, they’ll want to get behind you, they are a fabulous crowd.

“I think it’s a fantastic stadium and that support we got when we got it back to 1-1 was just phenomenal.
“I was really pleased. It was hard in the first half and we knew we shouldn’t have gone in a goal down but there was a good response after the interval, which was really important.
“We needed to pass the ball and create things and I thought the players were really brave in the second half.

“Wednesday have been on a good run. You have to give them credit for that, so it was a really big win for us.”
