Ossett Town will ramp up their preparations for the new season by hosting Leeds United U21s in their marquee summer friendly at Ingfield on Friday (kick-off 7.45pm).
The match will be Town’s only home friendly of the close season ahead of the new Evo-Stik Premier League campaign and Leeds coach Neil Redfearn will send the Whites’ stars of the future to WF5, along with a mix of more senior players needing valuable game time.
Dewsbury-born Chris Dawson, who enjoyed a breakthrough year in the first team at Elland Road last season and won Wales U21 honours, is expected to be part of the Leeds squad visiting Ossett.
More senior players such as Rodolph Austin and Adam Drury, who are currently away with United in Ireland, could also feature with Leeds boss Brian McDermott expected to be watching on from the Town stands.
New Ossett signing Jason Price and striker Jimmy Eyles will both be absent for Craig Elliott’s men but the Town boss will see the visit of the Whites as the perfect opportunity to get his squad up to speed with just over a fortnight until the big kick-off.
Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for children and gates open at 6pm with a bar and cafe facilities available throughout.
