Here's a look back at some other prodigious young talents to make their mark with the Whites in the last four decades. How many do you remember seeing play while they were teenagers?
5. Aaron Lennon
Precocious talent Aaron Lennon possessed arguably the most skill of any of the teenage talents to make it with Leeds United and has gone to play for England and be a Premier League regular. The winger, who played against the Whites, for current club Burnley, last weekend, became the youngest player to appear in the Premier League at the age of 16 years and 129 days, coming off the bench at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur in August, 2003.
6. John Sheridan
John Sheridan made an assured debut aged 19 against Middlesbrough on November 20, 1982 and quickly made himself a firm favourite with the Elland Road crowds with his cultured midfield play and spectacular goals, going on to play for the Republic of Ireland.
7. Alan Smith
Alan Smith made possibly the most explosive teenage debut for Leeds United as he came on as a substitute to make an immediate impact with a goal against Liverpool at Anfield, aged just 18, on November 14,1998. The Rothwell footballer was another to go on to play for England.
8. Fabian Delph
Fabian Delph is still playing in the Premier League today, but burst onto the scene as an outstanding teenage midfielder with Leeds United after making his debut aged 19 on Saturday, August 15, 2009 in a 2-0 defeat at home to Wigan Athletic.
