THERE were very different results for Ossett Town and Ossett Albion in their midweek outings in the Evo-Stik League First Division North last night, Tuesday.

Albion suffered their second defeat in the first week of the season when they went down 3-0 at home to Skelmersdale United.

Shaun Tuck gave United the lead in the first half before Paul Byrne’s goal and Tuck’s second clinched the points for the visitors.

The news was better for Ossett Town in their match at Trafford.

Town made it two wins from their opening two games with a hard-fought 3-2 success.

Steven Bennett and Luke Richardson fired Town into a 2-0 lead only for Joseph Shaw to cut the deficit four minutes before the break.

Kevin Sanasy restored Ossett’s two-goal lead on the hour and although Trafford hit back with a late Matthew Warburton strike, Town held on to move up to sixth in the table.

Wakefield FC are in action tonight, Wednesday, when they entertain Woodley Sports (7.45pm).
