Nostell MW earned a replay in the FA Cup extra preliminary round after a dramatic 3-3 draw at North West Counties side Maine Road on Saturday.

Welfare took the lead on 27 minutes thanks to Joel Dixon’s penalty but Road hit back eight minutes later when Eder Ruiz Villasante netted.

Joshua Tinker edged the hosts ahead on 54 minutes only for debutant Lucas Middleton to restore parity with Nostell’s second on the hour.

Maine Road looked destined to progress when Louis Edwards headed home with three minutes remaining but there was still time for more drama and man of the match Frank Zalo converted a penalty in the fourth minute of injury time.

Nostell will host the replay tomorrow night, Tuesday (7.45pm) at Crofton Community Centre.

Admission is £5 for adults and £3 concessions while under-16s accompanied by an adult get in for free.
