OSSETT Albion celebrated their first win in 13 games and only their second success in the Evo-Stik First Division North this season when they edged past Harrogate Railway Athletic 3-2 on Saturday.
Daniel Thirkell fired Railway ahead with only three minutes gone but Kurtis Noble put Albion on level terms midway through the first half.
Strikes from Tyrone Gay and Dale Kelly either side of the break put Albion 3-1 up and although Luke Durham’s goal cut the deficit and set-up a tense final 15 minutes, the hosts held on to secure three priceless points.
Rivals Ossett Town also enjoyed a home win in the division, sweeping past bottom side Cammell Laird 3-0.
Neil Towler was the man in form, scoring two before the break and another in the second-half to complete a match-winning hat-trick.
Luke Danville’s goal midway through the second period rescued a point for Wakefield FC at Bamber Bridge.
Robert Tonks’ own goal on the quarter-hour gave Bridge the lead only for Danville to level for the Bears.
