OSSETT Albion’s Evo-Stik Division 1 North struggles continued on Saturday when they suffered a 2-0 home loss against Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Second-half strikes from Daniel Hull and Alex Hallam gave Railway the spoils and kept a lacklustre Albion in the thick of a relegation battle.

The defeat was Albion’s fourth on the spin - and all by the same scoreline - and leaves them third from bottom.

There were better fortunes for Albion’s neighbours Ossett Town as they returned from Radcliffe Borough with an impressive 2-1 victory.

Grant Darley fired Craig Elliott’s men ahead in the first half but Borough got on level terms just after the hour mark through Matthew Chadwick.

Jimmy Eyles continued his superb goalscoring form with an eighth goal in as many matches to see Town return with maximum points.

Wakefield FC’s bright start to the year came to a halt at Salford City.

The hosts ran out 5-2 winners, with Daniel Heffernan netting a hat-trick to help see City into a 5-0 half-time lead. Robert Kinsella and Nathan Taylor also got on the scoresheet.

Chris Hitchings, from the penalty spot, and John Douglas bagged second-half consolation goals for the Bears.
