OSSETT Town face a second derby day in a week on Monday when they kick-off the new year against ground-sharing rivals Wakefield FC at Stade France (kick-off 3pm).
Phil Sharpe’s men shared the spoils with derby foes Ossett Albion on Boxing Day, snatching a late leveller in a 2-2 draw at the Warehouse Systems Stadium, and will be aiming to go one better against the struggling Bears.
Both sides are struggling at the wrong end of Evo-Stik Division 1 North and will be searching for better fortunes in 2012.
Town haven’t won since mid-November and Wakefield FC haven’t won since mid-September - when they beat Town 4-0 in the FA Cup.
The Bears showed signs of improvement last time out, however, when they slipped to a slender 1-0 home defeat against promotion-chasing Farsley FC, and boss Paul Lines will be hoping those improvements continue against Town.
It’ll be the fourth time the sides have met already this season. Wakefield won the reverse league clash and FA Cup contest, while Town triumphed in their FA Trophy meeting.
Ossett Albion are also in action on Monday but they’ve been handed a long trip to face Durham City (kick-off 3pm).
The Warehouse Systems Stadium club remain in the relegation zone but are unbeaten in their last five outings and could edge closer to safety with victory.
