Former player Richard Slater join Rams as assistant coach

NEW Dewsbury Rams coach Glenn Morrison has appointed former player Richard Slater as his assistant.

Slater made 34 appearances over two seasons with the Rams and played a key role in Dewsbury’s play-off victory over Workington Town in 2002, which secured them place in the First Division.

Slater, a former Great Britain Under-21 international, also played for Wakefield Trinity, winning the Yorkshire Cup in 1992, Featherstone Rovers and Hull KR.

Slater had a spell coaching in the amateur game with Normanton Knights and he is looking forward to a new challenge with the Rams.
